The founder and co-owner of The Sauer Kraut and is responsible for operations, overseeing purchasing, sales, promotion, and personnel. He is a trained Chef and has previously worked for Aramark as a Sous Chef at the Evergreen State College in Olympia and as the Banquet & Catering Chef at the Seven Cedars Casino in Sequim, Washington. He is also a faculty member of the Peninsula College where he teaches Culinary Classes through the Community Education department. Through his company, Der Heintzelmann, he has catered extensively to groups ranging from 10 to 300+.
Chef Heintz also taught culinary classes at Bayview Cooking School and was Culinary Club President at South Puget Sound Community College where he received his degree for Culinary Arts.
Laurel Heintz
Co-owner & Catering Coordinator responsible for large scale catering, involving off site events such as weddings, parties and social gatherings. She comes with an extensive catering background from both South Puget Sound Community College and the Evergreen State College where she was a supervisor doing caterings.
Daniel Heintz, Media Director
Co-owner and responsible for media, music, photography, and farm development. Dan has developed the gardens and organic berries that have supplied local restaurants for years. He now specializes in promoting and supporting the company with all our media needs. His world travels have given us many of our special international sandwich and salad ideas.
